In the “Anthologia of Communion Hymns for the days of the week and the Presanctified Gifts’”, Byzantine and Post-Byzantine melodies are published from the whole repertoire of the most significant Masters of these eras.
This publication will broaden the artistic horizons of the psaltic community and thus sculpts the musical expression of the worship of the Orthodox Church not only during the Week but also for the Great Lent.
A useful prologue about the history of the Melopoeia is given by Prof. Gregorios Stathis.
The elegant presentation of the compositions, the marking of isokratema leads to a better understanding of the melody, while the well-organized material makes this publication a chanter’s essential tool.
